Interspectral joins the new 1 million Euro research project iMAT – Innovative modelling strategies for additive manufacturing processes
Interspectral joins the three year research project iMAT (Innovative modelling strategies for additive manufacturing processes), addressing a critical challenge in robust AM production: predicting the physical behavior of components during manufacturing.
Led by the Application Center for Additive Manufacturing at RISE Research Institutes of Sweden, in collaboration with partners such as Chalmers Tekniska Högskola, Siemens Energy AB, Alfa Laval Technologies AB, Interspectral AB, MSC Software Sweden AB, SLM Solutions AG, and supported by Vinnova; iMAT aims to enhance predictability by developing and validating numerical models for manufacturing-induced defects and deviations.
Interspectral’s role in this project is the creation of a digital twin using their AM Explorer software. The digital twin will be used by the project to validate the developed models against in-process monitoring data and post-print metrology data such as CT.
“This is a great use case for AM Explorer that will also help drive the industry forward. We are excited to collaborate with additive manufacturing pioneers, contributing to innovative modeling strategies and enhancing predictability in AM processes,” says Isabelle Hachette, CEO of Interspectral.
